In the Footsteps of the Warlike Balts

The evolution of weaponry not only reflects humanity’s constant progress and development, but also reveals the challenges faced in different historical periods. In this educational session, we’ll explore what mattered most to people during the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages, and what life was like in the territory of present-day Lithuania thousands of years ago.

As we journey through archaeological periods and learn to navigate historical timelines, we’ll discover when the Balts emerged, how they differentiated into various tribes, and what tools and weapons were essential in the daily lives of our ancestors. We will also explore why Baltic tribes are often referred to as warlike.

Participants, depending on their age group, will take part in various engaging activities that encourage historical investigation, reinforce knowledge, and develop teamwork skills through different hands-on tasks.
