More About the Residency Program

The call for applications to the Creation Lab residency program is announced once or twice a year. Participants are selected by a committee of museum professionals and invited experts.

During the residencies, activities focus on engaging the local community socially and culturally, including meetings with residents, presentations of creative work, and public discussions. Residents share experiences, participate in creative dialogues, develop collaborative projects, and build creative networks.

The Creation Lab residency program began in 2021. The first residencies were designed for museum educators and cultural practitioners working in Lithuanian museums, as well as other specialists. Participants lived and worked together during intensive creative workshop sessions, developing socially inclusive educational programs and new cultural products that respond to the needs of target audiences and local communities. These projects are later presented to museum visitors and may become part of the museum’s permanent services.
