LNM joins the campaign “GREEN LIGHT FOR LIFE”: The House of Histories will be illuminated in green light
2025 10 10
On October 10, for the fifth consecutive year, Jaunimo Linija invites the public to celebrate World Mental Health Day together. In the evening, the House of Histories, a branch of the Lithuanian National Museum (LNM), will be lit up in green, as will other important institutional buildings, bridges, and objects throughout Lithuania.
Encouraging open communication
LNM is joining the national campaign “GREEN LIGHT FOR LIFE” and together they are seeking to draw attention to mental and emotional health. The aim of the campaign is to encourage open discussion about emotions, reduce stigma, and remind people that emotional health is just as important as physical health.
This month, the House of Stories will host several events dedicated to strengthening and supporting emotional well-being. Starting on October 29, the exhibition “Missed Meeting” from the Mental Health Arts Festival “Ryšiai” will be on display here. On that day, the psychological strengthening program “Time for Yourself” will also begin at all LNM Vilnius branches. This topic is therefore very important to the House of Stories. By lighting up in green, we invite passers-by to stop and think about their own emotional well-being and that of their loved ones, and how they can contribute to it,” says Simona Širvydaitė-Šliupienė, director of the LNM House of Histories.
Partnership with Jaunimo linija
This year’s campaign initiated by Jaunimo linija is themed #SureikšminkimeJausmus (Let’s Emphasize Feelings). It reminds us that hiding or denying feelings can have painful consequences, and that the ability to talk openly about them is the most important condition for emotional health. Let’s stop and value our feelings, wherever we are – at school, at work, at home, in the media, on social networks, in our city or community.
On October 10, the color green will become a symbol of light and hope, allowing us to live, speak, express what is difficult, and receive support. Join the campaign – at least one day a year, let’s #SureikšminkimeJausmus and emotional health together!
Jaunimo linija is available 24/7, all year round, so that no one is left alone! Jaunimo linija is one of the oldest non-governmental organizations in Lithuania, providing free emotional support to young people by phone and online since 1991.
