Thousands of ethnographic artefacts are preserved across eight halls, many of which are no longer familiar to us today. What aspects of Lithuanian identity are encoded within them? Which layers of ethnic culture have we preserved and passed on, and what have we gradually forgotten? Can the past still reveal something new to us?
We invite you to explore the Lithuanian National Museum’s ethnographic collection storage and exhibition. It is the only place in the country where visitors can discover such a rich and diverse collection reflecting the identity of Lithuanians who lived more than 200 years ago, preserved through architecture, home interiors, everyday life, crafts, and traditional occupations.
