Adaptation for persons with mobility disabilities
The Palanga Museum of the Burgomaster Jonas Slupas is located in the Historical Museum of Vilnius. at the end of construction and fully renovated in 2023 wooden villa. You can get to the museum independently without obstacles from the physical environment – on a cobblestone city sidewalk or upon arrival at the spacious parking lot in the courtyard, from which hard pavements no narrower than 1.20 m lead to the lift. trails. The exposition of the museum and other premises, as well as sanitary units, are adapted for persons with mobility disabilities. Exhibition spaces are located on the first floor of the building, the second floor is equipped with educational spaces and administrative premises. Between floors move stairs or elevator. Adaptation for visually impaired
There are no tactile markings or tactile layouts in the museum, but during the visit you will be accompanied by museologists who will tell you about the exhibitions located. Currently, while a permanent exposition telling the stories of the interwar period and the famous Lithuanian revival figure Jonas Slyupas is being prepared, the museum has temporary exhibitions. Museum staff will be happy to share stories about the ornate Museum Villa characteristic of old Palanga architecture and the people who lived here.

You can get to the museum on Vytautas street (paved sidewalk) or Jonas Sllipas Street (through the courtyard, with the possibility to leave the car for free).
Coming from Vytautas Street in the direction of Birute Park at number 23, turn right.
Travel along a sidewalk about 100 m long. Attention-in the middle of the path, a bust of John Sloop stands about halfway, go around it and you will approach the fence with a low gate that surrounds the museum area. During the work of the museum, the gates are usually open.
After passing through the gate, you will find yourself in the courtyard of the museum, you will enter the building by turning a little to the right and climbing the non-high bilateral steps.
Entering the building, you will get to the veranda, then to the entrance hall, from it to the right – to the room where the museum’s box office is located. Here you will be met by our employee.
If you come from the side of John Sloop Street – through the courtyard of the museum – you can get to the museum by an external elevator. It is installed on the left side of the building. The elevator button to the right of the cabin at a height of about 1 m, inside the elevator control buttons are arranged horizontally to the right. You will rise to the first floor by pressing the second button, to the second floor – the first.
The elevator doors are passable-you will enter through one, exit through the other. You can reach the cashier’s room on the first floor by crossing the two exhibition halls on the right. Here you will be met by our employee.
