From 28 May, the exhibitions of the most beautiful Czech and Lithuanian books are complemented by the most beautiful Latvian books of 2025.

The Latvian Publishers Association has been organising the book art competition “Golden Apple” for the 33rd time, since 1993. And for the first time, the most beautiful Latvian books are being exhibited at the Kazys Varnelis House-Museum!

This year, 35 Latvian publishers submitted 113 books to the competition, attracting attention with their design, creativity, and diversity of colours and forms. The exhibition presents 25 publications. The books were nominated in eight categories: poetry, fiction, children’s and young adult literature, documentary publications, scholarly books, art publications, and educational books. The main idea behind the competition is that a book is a work created by professionals from many different fields, revealing the artistic unity of content and form while showcasing contemporary possibilities in design, printing, and paper production.

The exhibition runs from 28 May to September 2026.
