Japanese artist Tei Kobayashi, who has created a sculpture installed at the Europe Park dedicated to Marija Gimbutas at Europos Parkas will present a new performance YONI: Ho¥mage to Marija Gimbutas.
Event will be held in English.
Tei Kobayashi is a conceptual artist who is interested in the socio-politico-economic issues related to the environments where she inserts site-specific sculptural installations and performances. She presents an intimate look into her own spirituality with her body; making artistic proclamations within the realms of her sculptural installation works.
Born in the Arizona desert and raised in the rugged Midwestern Colorado mountains of North America, Tei Kobayashi now lives deep in the heart of her mother’s country, Japan.
In 2010 she participated in the Biennale of the Americas in Denver, Colorado, USA, where she created an site-specific installation titled “Remembering the Forgotten”, a shelter for the homeless with a performance honoring homeless women and their children.
