The National Museum of Lithuania, together with the International Association of Museums of History, Vilnius Museum and the Museum of Modern Art MO, is organising the conference “City and Museum: Representation of Cities in European Museums”.

During the conference, we will invite museum professionals, historians, guides, urban researchers and all those interested in history to rethink the relationship between the city and the museum. How to represent the city in a museum in a contemporary way? Can the history of a city be of interest not only to its inhabitants? How do changes in the city affect the museum?

After the conference, we will invite participants to take a guided tour of the Gediminas Castle Tower or the House of Histories. Full conference programme: click here.

Where? At the National Museum of Lithuania, Old Arsenal (Arsenalo st. 3, Vilnius).
